DAT-1 Solar Tracking Module

Consists of 1x 500W Solar Panel (2.6m2) Generates 5kWh/p Energy per day.

Residential DAT Tracking Controller.

To test the DAT-1 Prototype Hinge, we used a common 4X4WD High-lift Jack to lower & raise the DAT.

For the production model, you will be able to be purchase the DAT with or without a 24V Hydraulic Cylinder as shown above.

For those Not wanting to use Ladders/Scaffolding, the hinge design simply allows for the DAT to be Assembly at Ground level, then raised, the hinge also make for easy lowering for cleaning or maintenance or enable easier relocation to the next premises.

What will a DAT-1 Harvest ?

A DAT-1 module installed with 1x 500W solar panel generates/harvest approx. 5kWh/p Energy per Day, if installed at 32° Latitude (Sydney).

It should be noted the further South or North of the Equator you live, DAT modules will harvest even more energy!

Does a DAT unit cost include the Foundation ?

No, DAT foundation is Optional, as some customers will prefer to manufacture there own foundation or base plate, as these small modules can be Free-standing, just like a Cafe Umbrella, or if prefer, can be Dynabolt to a Cement slab or secured down.

However, we commonly supply a 90~130cm Double Flanged Foundation Pole, the Top Flange should be set at Ground level, the Top Flange has the same bolt pattern as the Main Mast, providing easy assembly.

What is the Solar Panel Ground Clearance Height ?

With the panels Tilted at 60 degrees in the morning & evening, the panels can be as close to the ground as you like, commonly no less than 30cm ground clearance is recommended.

If you want to increase the ground clearance, so people & livestock can walk beneath the DAT, the Main Mast simply needs to be Higher, a 300cm pivot height provide approx. 280cm head clearance.

What Hight are the solar panels at in the Stow Position ?

A DAT-1 module with a 90cm Main Mast + Tilt Mast, the Panels in the Stow or High Wind Position (Horizontal) will be approx. 170cm above the ground.

The location & Height of a DAT units can be manufactured to compensate for the surrounding Shading from Trees, Buildings &/or Terrain, allowing the DAT to capture the maximum amount of Solar Radiation at Day break & Sunset.

This just requires a taller Main Mast to obtain the desired Panel height.
