DC v AC Connected Battery Systems

What is DC or AC coupling ?

AC or DC coupling simply refers to the type of Power and the way it is linked in a Micro Grid system.

DC linked is the Most common, as all Generated Power is first sent to the Inverter to be distributed to the Battery First, where the Premises is then Powered & all excess Power can be Exported into the State Grid for a Feed-in-Tarrif (FIT).

Where AC linked systems commonly use an Existing Solar Only inverter and more complicated to Wire, we recommend you install a Hybrid Inverter & keep the old Solar Only Inverter as a Back-up, in case your Hybrid inverter happens to fail.

The use of the words 'Solar battery' is misleading, as it indicates it is a special batteries, nothing is further from the truth, the term is simply to describe that the battery(s) are used to store energy, as any battery type known by man can be used to store energy, obviously not all batteries are as suitable for energy storage.
