Do we really need the Clean Energy Council ?

NO, the Clean Energy Council (CEC) is another unnecessary self governed Not-for-Profit department set up by our Government, and many Retailers & Installers are treating the STC's as a Cash Cow, very similar to the Housing "Pink Bats" saga of the past.

The CEC is a not-for-profit Company that overpay it's staff to remain Non-Profit, until recently oversaw the design and installation qualifications of people who do the work on solar systems.

Many Solar & Battery Retailers are chasing the allocation of your STC's to fatten there bank accounts.

The CEC should be called "Clean Energy Con", as we blame them for standing in the way of the transitioning to Cheaper Power. We don't recommend Clients head down the CEC path of chasing the Government’s STC's, as this path greatly increases the final cost to the system owner !

Apparently after a push from the many honest installers, the responsibility for handing out this qualification has now passed from the CEC to Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA), time will tell is this is another department with there hands in the till.

A solar system itself is not "approved" by SAA, but it must be designed and installed by an SAA-accredited person to qualify for government rebates in Australia. The physical parts (panels and inverters) must be approved by the Clean Energy Council (CEC).

The basic Facts are, all Homes & Businesses don't need to head down the CEC or SAA Rabbit hole, unless chasing the Small Technology Certificates (STC), that in-turn greatly increase the Final System Cost, as many Solar Installers are over charge for there Batteries, Inverters, Solar Panels, and there Labour, to simply Offer the Government intensives, that Australian Tax Payers foot the bill for.

Where we simply offer genuine Wholesale Prices for our Equipment, that very few greedy Retailer will match.
